What is BierFranz™?

To get a glimpse how this all began, let us talk to Robert Stapf, the creator of the BierFranz™. <img src="http://bierfranz.com/robertstapfportraitw400.jpg"> *How did this passion to preserve the German culture begin?* As a young German Entrepreneur, I had lived in Germany and then in the United States; NYC and NJ to be exact. I listened to stories of German-Americans and it was evident that helping to commemorate this culture with the BierFranz™, would be a true heirloom-quality celebration for families, as there is not a lot out there for German officers and fire fighters. <img src="http://bierfranz.com/iStock_000002723233Small.jpg" name="Image11" width="420" height="315" border="0"> *Why did you seem to have a soft spot for law and fire professionals?* A good friend of mine is a 911 dispatcher, and through her I began to befriend fire fighters and law enforcement officers, professional groups I had always admired. I noticed that there were many Germans in this elite group. *Why Steins?* It hit me that I wanted something of cultural significance with symbolic value that is a work of art. In Germany, I have enjoyed Oktoberfest and the Beergardens in Munich all of my life; and in the company of American friends. I’ve always known that beer steins were a popular amongst locals and tourists. It is a great souvenir and a wonderful representation of the strong, tough German and Americans of German heritage that I wanted to salute. <img src="http://bierfranz.com/pride.jpg" name="Image11" width="420" height="315" border="0"> *What makes the design unique?* The design was the ornamentation that was developed between myself and a German design team; I wanted to convey something festive and exquisite that turns something traditional into something that also is a tribute.
